About

Hey everyone! Barbara Dab here. I’m the host of Zone About Town on WGFX 104.5 The Zone here in Nashville, Tennessee. As many of you already know, I’m an L.A. native, recent transplant to Music City. I’ve been a reporter, journalist for the last 13 years and I love it! In L.A. I ran a newsroom, worked in non-profit communications and was a bureau reporter for a national radio network. But this job is really a dream. I’ve been able to learn so much about Middle Tennessee and the people who call this beautiful state home (and now, that would include myself).

I have three fantastic kids and a wonderful husband who brought me to Nashville via Nissan! If any of you have story or interview ideas, post them to this blog along with contact info and I’ll follow up. Also, feel free to comment on my interviews, blog posts and anything else that’s on your mind.

Thanks for listening Music City!

  1. Trying to find the title to the book mention on the Sunday morning show….”Getting over the Naysayers.” ?? or something like that…written by a coach and/or two athletes.

Also caught the titles “The Next 15 minutes” and Taking the Stairs.

Welcome to TN! I enjoy your show. And I loved my 4/1/2 years in Southern Calif. 1972-1976…high school and Cerritos jr college yrs.

    • Hi,
Thanks for the nice comments. Glad you like the show. I think the book to which you are referring is “Take The Stairs” by Rory Vaden. Is there another one? Can you remember when it ran? Thanks for listening!

    • Yesterday we did a segment with a Professor at MTSU and two students who will be visiting Japan in June to help with Tsunami recovery, and a segment with Vance Meyer about an online Franchise conference. I hope this helps!

  2. Admiring the time and energy you put into your blog and in depth information you offer.
It’s great to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same unwanted rehashed material.
Great read! I’ve bookmarked your site and I’m including your RSS
    feeds to my Google account.
