Get your Fashion on Nashville!

It’s October in Music City!!!!!  Tons of fun stuff to do while supporting some seriously important causes.

First up is The Bootstraps Foundation’s “Passion for Fashion” event on the 17th. The event is sponsored by Zuus Country, check them out too!   This is your shot at viewing some gorgeous couture fashion, meet and greet some local celebs and help local high school students finance a college education.  I spoke with Matt Shorter, an Executive Board Member with The Bootstraps Foundation, to get the scoop.  Believe me, you’re not going to want to miss this one!

Next up is the Susan G. Komen “Race for the Cure”.  This is the annual party that raises serious dough for Breast Cancer research and treatment.  My friends at Susan G. Komen of Nashville and Middle Tennessee sat down with me to chat about the latest in research.  We also learned once again about the amazing resources available in our community.

I’ve got much more, so stay tuned and keep reading!  Have a blast Nashville!

For the Cure…

Hey Everyone!  Looks like we’ve seen the last warm weather for awhile.  But fall sure looks gorgeous, doesn’t it?

This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  There have been so many advances in recent years, both in the area of diagnosis and treatment.  I had the privilege of talking to two women who are on the ground working to raise awareness about the importance of early diagnosis and finding a treatment plan that is individualized for the patient.

Patty Harman is Executive Director of the Susan G. Komen For the Cure of Greater Nashville.  She talks about the work they are doing to provide resources to all women.

Jane Tiller is, in her own words, a Breast Cancer Thriver!  She talks about her own very personal story of fighting and thriving post diagnosis.

These gals were so amazing, I devoted the entire show to their stories.  Listen in and then check out www.komennashville.org

And, if you’re reading this on October 26th, there’s still time to sign up for the Race for the Cure, tomorrow, the 27th.  Register for Team Harman and join me!
